Welcome to the first ever Ask Stalin. Stalin wishes to answer your questions. Send them too Stalin@anti-social.co.uk and he'll do his best to answer them. Of course, he can't answer all questions, especially the ones about his sex life.

Dear Uncle Stalin,

I never thought these stories were true until it happened to me. I feel divided between the inevitability of capitalist rule and the inherent desire to work for the general betterment of my fellow man. Do you feel that, given that the laissez faire approach to the economy has left a much greater proportion of the population with a better state of life than those unable to adapt to its ways, we should perhaps consider the experiment of social economics a failure. And should I wear my red uniform with my blue boots or not?

Yours faithfully,
Zesty Pete Esq.

Comrade Zesty, this is a problem faced by many of the proletariat at some stage or another. For those of us not born with the foul stench of the corrupt and grasping bourgeoisie in our mouths, we recognise the strength of the group and the needs of the many as being more important than our own petty desires. It is often something I discuss over a few espressos with Comrade Dalai Lama whenever out speaking tours have us in the same town.

NEVER consider the rule of decadent capitalism to be inevitable. To do so is to be a traitor to the Proletariat and ALL TRAITORS MUST BE CRUSHED RUTHLESSLY. I do not say this out of hate or anger, merely love and dedication to the protection and defence of the Proletariat from the foul depredations of the burgeoisse and it's odious minions. When even one child is hungry while others eat veal and watch Dallas on their DVD players, there is no justice in your decadent western societies. NONE. The Working Class must destroy these trappings of decandence and privilege, melt them down and make weapons. Arm themselves and take power from the bourgeoisie at gun point. Wash the sins of capitalism from their society with blood. Then form the people into a Kollectiv and have yourself and trusted comrades installed as a governing apparatus to insure that not anti-revolutionary backsliding occurs in the face of the machinations of the Wall Street imperialists who will try to tell you that owning a Playstation is more important than the bettermennt of your society. Be prepared to purge your society regularly of all suspected capitalist sympathisers. People who express opinions such AS THOSE YOU YOURSELF JUST HAVE. You will be contacted shortly by the local commissar for an interview regarding your lack of Revolutionary Zeal and Proletariat Solidarity. Doubt, Comrade Zesty, is the precusor to subversion.

Social Economics has not been a failure. The failure was of subsquent governments being corrupted by decadent Western thinking. By relaxing their grip, they allowed the stench of 'personal freedom' and 'choice' to waft over Iron Curtain, intoxicating the proletariat with the promises of 'stuff'. Look where that has gotten such countries now. For all of those who point at the USSR as 'what was wrong with communism', I point at today's Russia and say 'this is what is wrong with capitalism.

Also, Comrade Zesty, a red uniform is not a good uniform choice. It lacks the intimidatroy factor necessary to remind the proletariat of their duty to the State and to each other. For an Internal Security organisation I would suggest dark greys. Not only do they sufficiently intimidate people but they also show less of those everyday stains accumulated 'interviewing' recalcitrant workers.

Your Comrade,
Josef Stalin
